What to do if you find a lost pet wearing a Pets Bureau ID tag

If you have found a lost dog or a stray cat wearing a Pets Bureau ID tag, please call the FREEPHONE number on the back of the tag immediately. Our automated system will identify the pet on our database using the unique serial number on the back of the tag. Pets Bureau will then pass on the details day or night so that the pet can be speedily reunited!

What to do if the lost pet is not wearing a Pets Bureau ID tag

If the pet you have found does not have an ID Tag or it is unregistered, contact your local dog warden and the local vets and rescue centres and should you hand the pet in, please keep details so should we need to make contact, we can pass on details to the owners.

Please do not take in a lost dog or stray cat without reporting them. There may be a family already looking for them and this could save precious time in the reunification process!

How do I register details of found pets?

You do not need to - if the pet is found from the registered Pets Bureau ID Tag, then the finder will automatically be provided with details when calling our freephone number on the back of the ID Tag so both pet and owner are speedily reunited!
